Care

Silk keeps better than people say. Wash it by hand in cold water with a drop of mild soap. Move it through the water and lift it out. Do not wring it. Press the water out inside a towel and dry it away from the sun.

Press it on the lowest setting while it is still a little damp, on the inside face. Never press the belt flat. It is cut on the bias and it needs to keep its twist.

The lining is the same cloth as the robe, so the two move together and the seams stay flat. If a thread lifts, do not pull it. Push it back through with a needle.

On size: the cut is generous and takes one size only. In M the long robe measures 132 cm from shoulder to hem. The mid length falls at 118 cm, the short at 92 cm. The sleeve is 58 cm. Between two sizes, take the smaller one. The belt does the rest.

Keep it folded, not on a hanger. Silk lengthens at the shoulder over a season. A drawer or a shelf, with nothing heavy on top of it.
